Update 6/29/20:

A bipartisan coalition of 20 senators also announced their support for the bill. It's the perfect time for you contact your senator, even if you have already done so.

Why it's so important:

Dozens of advanced nuclear developers hoping to help usher in a new era of clean energy prosperity with their designs, but they need support from the national lab system in order to do it! The Nuclear Energy Leadership Act (NELA) can help catalyze advanced nuclear development by doing the following:

1.) Directing the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop a 10-year strategic plan for reactor innovation, development, and deployment.

2.) Mandating the development of versatile fast test reactor, to help companies qualify materials.

3.) Developing future supplies of high-assay low-enriched uranium (needed for several advanced nuclear designs)

4.) Reauthorizing funding for the Integrated University Program, because nuclear engineers are vital to the success of all of this!

So what are you waiting for– ask your Senators to support NELA!
